Apple is boasting of its largest product launch in company history today, as two new iPad models roll out in the most expansive global product introduction the iDevice maker has ever facilitated.
And by most accounts, Apple is off to a significantly positive start.
“Clearly, the iPad mini is off to a strong start and we believe this will be the next star in the Apple portfolio,” Brian White of Topeka Capital Markets tellsForbes.
This morning, the new 4th generation iPad and the iPad mini were released around the world in 34 countries, including the U.S. Apple fans are also getting a crack at the new iPads in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.K.
“We continue to believe that while launch lines and initial weekend sales may not be as impressive as previous iPad launches, the iPad Mini will be a hit product for Apple and become a more significant part of the story over the next 2-3 quarters,” added Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster.
A majority of analysts and market watchers surveyed believe that Apple could sell between 20-30 million iPads this holiday quarter alone.
So… did you get a new iPad today?
